We believe that we are the best Private Christian PreSchool in the city of Millington. Our administration and staff are dedicated to teaching children God’s word in a safe environment.

Lighthouse Christian Preschool has been in existence for over 27 years. It previously was known in the community as Small World Daycare, Inc. We have been a committed member of this community by being involved in the lives of thousands of children over the years. We are not babysitters. We are Christian educators. We instill Christian beliefs and character qualities along with the ability to think for themselves to make proper decisions.

We accept children 12 months thru 5 years old before entering Kindergarten. We teach the Abeka curriculum from Pensacola University to our 3 and 4 year olds.

Before we can teach the old 3 R’s ---reading, writing, arithmetic, we teach our children to respect God, themselves, and others --- and to be responsible for their own behavior by making good choices and decisions. Then we are able to teach the other 3 R’s.

We use all aspects of this curriculum --- from Scripture verses, Bible stories, to phonics and math, writing, vocabulary, language, etc. In addition, we teach basic Spanish words as well. We are proud to say that many of our children are able to read before leaving our care. Parents remark quite often that our children score very high on the Kindergarten entrance testing.

Our classroom settings are very child friendly and very structured to provide the proper atmosphere for maximum learning opportunities.

Although our children are in a group setting, we truly care for the needs of each child as an individual. We maintain communication with parents by courtesy calls, emails, and newsletters.

We have a proxy card security system and a number system in place to secure the safety of our children at all times.

Our staff is screened through all the DOE requirements and maintains annual training above the minimum requirements. Each staff member is required to have CPR training.
